Tips & Tricks
Akai specializes in supporting his allies and getting to the front of the fight to tank hits and force enemies to focus him with his constant shields and considerable damage thanks to the marks on his special 2.
Coordinating with your teammates and ambushing opponents combined with Akai’s tanky stats and item builds will unleash havoc on your enemies.
Items
Building Shadow Mask on Akai is a good way to maintain gold and experience generation while roaming the map early to help allies out. It also offers a nice Active, granting concealment for Akai and nearby allies — perfect for setting up ambushes and surprising enemies in lane.
Rapid Boots help Akai travel the map faster, great for his roaming playstyle. After that, build defense items based on the enemy team composition. Add health, shields and physical or magical defense, prioritizing the defense of whoever the enemy team either has more of, or who has become the biggest threat.
Abilities
Akai is all about getting in and causing a frenzy. His high health pool and shields let him get away with this, allowing him to use moves like Thousand Pounder to literally fling himself into enemies and swing around with Hurricane Dance.
Deciding when to start a fight with Akai can be the hardest thing to master. His Blender ability makes this a bit easier. If you land it, going in with Thousand Pounder and Hurricane Dance will be much easier, thanks to Blender’s marks increasing Akai’s damage. Use Blender first before throwing yourself into a fight, and always remember to bring backup with you before going in!
Emblems
Akai benefits from the Support Emblem page, with Vitality and Gift giving him even more health to tank enemy fire with. Using Focusing Mark on Akai helps secure teamfight wins faster; mark enemies with Blender and jump in, letting allies hit your foes even harder thanks to the focusing mark!
