Tips & Tricks
Balmond is a burly fighter that needs to get into the thick of the action to deal damage. Thankfully, his moves give him a charge and decent health regeneration to help him start fights and make it out alive.
With a True Damage execute built into his ultimate ability and regeneration in his passive, Balmond can build offensively or defensively and still be able to dish out damage and survive.
Items
Balmond can build items that complement his fighter style, providing both defensive and offensive stats. Starting with Warrior Boots can help make it easier to chase down enemies with his fairly limited range while providing a nice defense boost.
Items like Guardian Helmet and Cursed Helmet can make Balmond even more threatening to his lane opponent, further raising his health. The Guardian Helmet will make him regen faster, while the Cursed Helmet will give him a nice bit of magic damage to nearby enemies.
Abilities
Balmond is able to initiate fights with his charge and disrupt the enemy team, immediately damaging everyone who he flings himself into with his axe spin. He can then take advantage of the damage he’s done to them by using his ultimate ability, which scales off the enemies’ missing health.
Knowing when to engage is an important tactic to ensure successful team fights. Waiting until all your abilities are up to dash in, swing around and execute enemies can help you deal the most damage and take the least amount possible.
Emblems
As a fighter, Balmond utilizes the Fighter Emblem page the best, with points in Bravery and Persistence giving him a nice boost to both his attack and health. More defensive options can be taken in the first skill row if preferred.
The Festival of Blood talent greatly increases Balmond’s Spell Vamp, making him even more of a terrifying, regenerating monster.
