Tips & Tricks
Chang’e is a fragile mage with limited escape options, despite many of her moves giving her a movement speed buff. It is important for her to play smart and avoid being jumped on by assassins who can easily kill her. Because of Chang’e’s low durability, she does have high damage output potential thanks to her passive and Crescent Moon enhancements.
During the early game, play safely and farm minions and defending your tower. Only go in for kills that you know can be secured or if you have assistance from your jungler or support. Because of Chang’e’s limited defenses, it’s important for her to not be out of position and give the enemy team free kills.
During team fights, Chang’e can shine with her ultimate, providing her heavy burst damage from range. Assist your team in weakening enemy defenses as a group, having tankier teammates protect you so that you can take down enemy turrets and secure a victory.
Items
Magic Shoes give Chang’e some necessary cooldown reduction, perfect for helping her keep her Crescent Moon buffs up and increasing her damage potential.
Items like Divine Glaive give her greatly increased magic penetration, perfect for busting down tanks even after they build magic resistances. Thanks to Chang’e’s innate shields and ability to poke from range, she should constantly be enjoying the item’s Spellbreaker passive as well when positioned correctly.
Items like Ice Queen Wand can make it even harder for enemies to escape Chang’e’s ultimate, slowing them up to 30% as she barrages them with meteors.
For late game, Winter Truncheon can help the delicate Chang’e stay alive if caught out of position. Items like Holy Crystal can increase her magic power even further, useful if extremely ahead of the enemy team.
Abilities
Chang’e’s abilities become enhanced with her Crescent Moon, making it an important choice to max out first for the reduced cooldown that comes with upgrades. Try to have Crescent Moon active whenever possible, enjoying the shields it provides and the enhanced damage.
Starmoon Shockwave allows Chang’e to poke enemies from a distance, with added damage with the Crescent Moon Buff.
Her ultimate ability deals surprising damage, and with her increased speed during it (and slowed enemies via her item builds) it can be hard for enemies to strafe or kite the damage, forcing them to take the brunt of her burst head on.
Emblems
With her kit primarily focusing on Magic Damage, Chang’e uses the Mage Emblem page.
Upgrades in Agility help her move faster, working nicely with her abilities that grant increased movement speed. Observation gives her added magic penetration, allowing her to poke enemies down even harder.
Impure Rage allows Chang’e to pile even more damage on her attacks, and with her poke and destroy play style, this damage can add up and easily help secure kills.
