Tips & Tricks
Lancelot is a burst assassin that can use his multiple mobility spells to avoid damage and outplay enemies. To do this properly, you need to know your enemies as well as you know Lancelot, being careful to avoid their crowd control and burst damage.
In the early game, you will primarily be taking jungle camps and helping lanes get ahead. If confident against the enemy jungler, invade them and set their team behind as well. Lancelot is great at dueling enemies, so seeking out isolated targets and burst them down.
Lancelot loses a bit of his power in team fights, meaning he should primarily be trying to split push objectives rather than running in to die to multiple enemies. Explain to your team to push elsewhere on the map while you pressure other lanes. Best case scenario, you get an objective by yourself while teams fight. Worst case scenario, the enemy team comes to stop you — but this won’t even be that bad if your team is pushing across the map uncontested.
Items
With so much mobility and damage, Lancelot can afford to build offensively. Start with the jungle item, Raptor Machete, to make clearing camps easier early.
Warrior Boots are a smart defensive boots option, as are Tough Boots if the enemy has lots of magic damage or crowd control that can stop you from eliminating key targets.
For late game, Rose Gold Meteor gives Lancelot a bit more offense while also giving him a passive defensive shield when low. Paired with Queen’s Wings, Lancelot can be difficult to kill and beefy with the extra 1,000 HP and shields. Queen’s Wings also grants cooldown reduction which works nicely with Lancelot’s passive.
Abilities
As an assassin duelist, Lancelot will seek out isolated enemies and use a combination of his skills and Basic Attacks to swiftly take down enemies.
Use Puncture on targets to dash around and avoid their skill shots. Dash in to a target without a sword mark, resetting Puncture’s cooldown. Resist the urge to dash immediately again (unless the added damage will secure the kill.) Keep Puncture up to dodge the enemy’s retaliation to both avoid damage and inflict it.
Thorned Rose is another great ability for both inflicting and avoiding damage. Lancelot will vanish off the map briefly while attacking, being untargetable. This is perfect for bursting down Marksmen and other enemies whose primary damage comes from Basic Attacks.
Keep in mind the tools the enemy has to stop you and use your own skills wisely to bait out and nullify their defensive options.
Phantom Execution grants Lancelot a final bit of burst damage and mobility, making him invincible as he thrusts forward into enemies, inflicting heavy damage to the enemies in the line. Use this to finish off low targets after using the rest of your abilities.
Emblems
Lancelot benefits most from the Assassin emblem page, with upgrades in Mastery and Invasion giving him added cooldown reduction, perfect for reducing enemy defense consistently, and physical penetration to pierce armor. The Bounty Hunter talent grants extra gold for kills, helping Lancelot acquire his expensive damage items more quickly and snowball faster.
