Tips & Tricks
Diggie thrives on being an unkillable nuisance for the enemy team, setting hazards around the battlefield and protecting allies with shields.
Roam the map early or stick with your marksman to help protect them. Poke enemies down making it hard for them to farm minions and acquire gold. Pressure objectives with your team, using your skills to force enemies away.
Use Diggie’s egg form to properly reposition upon death so that you will be able to get right back into the fight upon revival. Focus on keeping enemies at bay, especially assassins and other enemies who pose a threat to your team’s damage dealers.
Items
Take the support item first and foremost so that you can roam early without sacrificing too much gold and experience. This will enable you to help your team and keep up with their gold generation and levels.
Magic Shoes give cooldown reduction, allowing Diggie to be more of a frequent nuisance to the enemy team with his skills.
After that, consider a hybrid build combining defensive items and magic items. Diggie doesn’t need to deal high damage, but items like Ice Queen Wand give him more damage output and utility — the item’s passive slows enemies.
Items like Athena’s Shield give him periodic shields that pair nicely with his ultimate ability that can turn the tides of a fight.
Dominance Ice is another great item with its cooldown reduction allowing Diggie to use his moves more frequently with the added bonus of slowing down a hypercarry marksman, reducing their attack speed considerably.
Abilities
Use Diggie’s abilities to poke and harass enemies whenever possible.
Auto Alarm Bombs make great hazard zones, forcing enemies to tread carefully or take needless damage. They last a considerable time, allowing Diggie to prevent enemies from getting too close in lane, or he can toss out multiple bombs in tense team fights for some added damage.
Reverse Time is a great tool for preventing enemies from escaping a fight when they get low. They are stuck in the marked zone, and upon leaving the outer edges are yanked back to the center. Use this when your team is focusing a high priority enemy to stop them from getting away.
Time Journey, Diggie’s ultimate ability, is great when you anticipate incoming burst damage. Use it to help allies that have grouped up with you survive the enemy attacks. The added crowd control immunity enables Diggie to keep his team alive throughout enemy tank and support crowd control abilities.
Emblems
The Support Emblem page will help Diggie have the most uptime, allowing him to better influence fights around the map.
Agility and Recovery talents give him added regeneration and movement speed. Focusing Mark will increase his allies’ damage upon enemies he hits, perfect for targeting high priority enemies and enabling your team to better burst them down!
